We are selling redwood (type - Khaya Ivorensis) from West Africa ( Guinea, Conakry). It is extended in evergreen rain forests of West Africa, is of 50m height and with the diameter of trunk up to 200 cm.
The wood of middle hardness, rather light is well treated, cut and shelled as well as fairly good split, turned, coated with glue and perfectly polished. It dries good and quickly, shrinks a little, is durable and steady to atmosphere effects.
Owing to its excellent features and much similarity with American wood Khaya Mahagoni is used instead of Mahagoni. The volumetric weight in air-dry state 0,45-0,55 g/cm3.
The wood is used for furnature fabrication as veneer log for veneer boards, for parquetry production, as constructional wood for internal and external works, for articles' making by means of lathes, in the construction of wagons and small ships as well as in musical instruments manufacturing, for styling bars and restaurants etc.
